IoT Definitions:
The term Internet of Things generally refers to scenarios where network connectivity and computing capability extends to objects, sensors and everyday items not normally considered computers, allowing these devices to generate, exchange and consume data with minimal human intervention. There is, however, no single, universal definition.

IoT devices use their inbuilt systems, such as processors, sensors, and communication hardware, to collect data. These web-enabled smart devices then transfer the data to other devices to provide better services and address specific needs.
Each remotely controllable object has its own identity card that makes it unique and recognizable, in most cases an IP address. It is this numerical identification number that will allow to find this object and to give it instructions from a computer or a cell phone.
The instructions are sent to the object in question through a communication channel: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RFID chip... For example, if you see raindrops sliding down your office windows as winter approaches, you can instruct your underfloor heating to turn on at the touch of a button from anywhere to find a pleasant temperature in your home when you return.

Why is IoT so important ?

A self driving car is a vehicle capable of sensing its environment and operating without human involvement . An autonomous car can go anywhere a traditional car goes and do everything that an experienced human driver does .
** Smartwatch
The connected watch, is an electronic watch that integrates elaborate communication functions: receiving-sending phone calls, notifications from a cell phone, sending and receiving messages, voice recognition.
These instruments are usually equipped with a touch screen that allows you to customize the display by changing the dial; in general, they act as a companion for smartphones to which they are linked by Bluetooth.
IoT implementations use different technical communications models, each with its own characteristics. Four common communications models described by the Internet Architecture Board include: Device-to-Device, Device-to-Cloud, Device-to-Gateway, and Back-End Data-Sharing. These models highlight the flexibility in the ways that IoT devices can connect and provide value to the user.
